Maintenance & Engineering

Job Summary:

The Facility Engineer participates, coordinates and executes technical optimization projects and oversees ongoing maintenance and operation of the facility, and equipment, and utilities including, compressed air systems, boilers, HVAC systems, and packaging and manufacturing equipment. Will comply with all regulatory / cGMP guidelines, standards, and policies.


  • Loss Elimination, Risk Management and Life Cycle Asset management
  • Create & maintain system specifications for facility equipment
  • Support all design, installation, commissioning, qualification, training activities for facility equipment
  • Provide additional technical support to project team as required
  • Adhere to all Quality & environmental regulations within area of responsibility
  • Maintain & establish standards for procedures & maintenance plans
  • All safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties Required Qualifications


  • Service building and grounds including utilities providing technical support in maintaining and planning repairs or modification to improve facility condition
  • Consults with maintenance technician on technical problems for advanced troubleshooting
  • Reviews deficiencies noted during reactive and preventive maintenance and identify solution to prevent problem recurrence
  • Provides technical guidance for CMMS by reviewing and analyzing the work order in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Develop the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment
  • Works as a Project Engineer to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The Facility Engineer is responsible for adhering to the life cycle asset management process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets
  • Include but are not limited to writing/reviewing specification, design reviews; equipment installation; commissioning & qualifications
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development; maintenance development & training management of cost, quality & schedule within area of responsibility; establishing & maintain positive working relationship with internal & external engineering team & stakeholders
  • All activities are aligned with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as requested


  • 2-5+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge & experience in the operations, maintenance & design of cGMP utilities as well as working in a regulated environment (Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), OSHA)
  • Knowledgeable in utilities system in include chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater management
  • Knowledgeable in clean utilities system to include process water, clean steam, process air, vacuum
  • Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, & electrical systems
  • Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, Validation Protocols
  • Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high level concepts
  • Computer literacy with associated systems
  • Proven expertise in planning/organization/execution of project & maintenance activities, following up on results
  • Revising the work plan for complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams Physical & Other Requirements
  • Requires ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity of process equipment & areas
  • Ability to work hours necessary & according to customer needs*

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • BA/BS in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • GMP knowledge and experience working in GMP facility required
  • Understanding and knowledge of HVAC and building management system
