Formulation Scientist 1 – 1st Shift

We are looking for a Formulation Scientist 1 for 1st Shift. To carry out applied research activities to develop technologically superior over-the-counter and personal care products under supervision. Conduct pre-formulation, formulation and process development and production scale-up of new or improved products as required. Assist in the manufacture, label, release and distribution of clinical supplies under supervision. Organize data in preparation of formulation development and other reports in support of product launches. Maintain cGMP compliance in laboratory activities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop stable formulation of new and improved pharmaceutical and cosmetic products in accordance with Fleet R&D product development process under the guidance of a Sr. Scientist or Supervisor.
- Participate in carrying out activities for process development and scale-up batch manufacture and provide samples to AR&D for testing.
- Keep accurate documentation of laboratory work, especially laboratory notebooks and other regulatory documents, as needed.
- Participate in the manufacture, label, release and shipment of clinical supplies.
- Assist in organizing data for generating formulation development report in a timely manner.
- Generate SOPs as assigned by supervisor.
- Keep track of work times in the department database.
- Participate in meetings with Marketing to develop new product ideas and concepts. Assist supervisor in evaluating competitors’ products and provide ideas for new and improved products.
- Generate memoranda of inventions to cover novel findings and keep up-to-date with recent findings in OTC and cosmetic product development.
- Assist in the development of new and improved stable OTC and personal care products in accordance with Fleet R&D product development process under guidance of a Sr. Scientist or Supervisor.
- Participate in project team meetings and provide project updates when requested
- Conduct preformulation and formulation development activities of assigned projects under supervision.
- Execute batch manufacturing records and manufacture batches for stability evaluation and provide samples to AR&D for testing.
- Work closely with the AR&D group to develop specifications (RM, IP and FP).
- Train on departmental SOPs and create SOPs as assigned by department management.
- Assist in process development and scale-up of selected formulation to commercial scale.
- Assist in manufacturing, packaging, labeling and release of clinical supplies in accordance with cGMP guidelines.
- Keep supervisor regularly informed of activities.
- Assist in creating formulation development report for technical release as per timeline.
- Participate in meetings with marketing to generate new product ideas
- Keep track of work times in the department database.
- Perform all other related duties as directed by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU WILL BRING
- B.S. in Pharmacy, Chemistry or related scientific discipline with 5 years’ experience in product development.
