HR Assistant (Tarrytown, NY)

Human Resources Assistant supports with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, organization development, and employment/recruiting.This entry level role is ideal for a new college graduate or someone looking to transition from front office duties to HR.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Input/run Corporate Payroll for approx. 200 employees. (Current System: Paycom)
- Assist with recruiting and staffing logistics (scheduling, managing calendars/appts)
- Performance management and improvement of tracking systems (collect/track)
- Provide employee orientation, Training Logistics and Recordkeeping
- Company Orientation, work with IT regarding setup of employee in systems, track records/file
- Assist in the planning of company-wide meeting facilitation and participation;
- Assist in the proper payments of all benefits administration and recordkeeping required.
- Assist in maintaining employee files and the HR filing system;
- Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
- Work with other staff members to help provide facilities management, resources.
- Assist/Backup in the company mailroom with packages and mail.
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting.
- Projects as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Qualifications: Command of English language (written and oral)
Education and Training Requirements: College degree. 2 or more years of office experience
Working Conditions: Office environment. Some lifting and movement of boxes.
