Manager, Operations Packaging (Lynchburg, VA)

Responsible for overseeing the packaging team producing quality products in a safe and cost effective environment on multiple shifts to meet production plans.

Major Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

Accountabilities

  • Assure compliance with cGMP, corporate and other regulatory standards for quality and safety of all areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in establishing, implementing, and monitoring standards for quality, safety, and productivity among packaging team members.
  • Develop, implement and monitor procedures for packaging quality products.
  • Plan and implement a manpower plan that supports the production plan.
  • Develop, analyze and communicate relevant reports for areas of responsibility.
  • Develop the skills of packaging supervisors to their fullest potential.
  • Develop and implement standards for productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop and administer assigned corporate plans such as budgets.
  • Perform a variety of personnel related activities such as hiring, training, appraising, communicating and salary changes.
  • Participate in New Product Development Process.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Ensures regulatory and corporate compliance of each improvement
  • Leads by example.

Operational Performance

  • Ensures department goals are aligned with business imperatives.
  • Ensures performance goals are met.
  • Establishes and ensures achievement of all unit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure linkages across MCRSs are maximized.
  • Supports business processes and requirements.

  • Safety Incident Rate (%)
  • Planned budget/actual budget (%)

People Management/Development

  • Promotes open and honest communication.
  • Fosters “team building.”

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of seven years of related experience including three years of management experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of domestic and international cGMP’s in a consumer packaged good environment highly desired.  Experience with ERP and related software including RF technology preferred.
