Manager, Trade Finance & Planning (Tarrytown, NY)



The Manager of Trade Finance and Planning is responsible for leading the management, allocation and optimization of all trade funds, leveraging our Vistex trade funds management system.

This position also leads the creation and communication of all brand trade plans, as well as establish best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires collaboration across multiple functional areas including sales leadership, field sales, sales development, brand marketing, shopper marketing, trade marketing, finance, customer support and external agencies.

This position reports to Senior Director of Customer Development.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of trade budget management and trade platform management via Vistex
  • Manage and execute and the trade allocation process
  • Develop system analytic reports and scorecards for effective management and communication
  • Lead the coordination of process across sales, corporate finance & customer development functions.
  • Optimize Vistex analytic capabilities across promo evaluation and ROI
  • Evaluate and build an efficient, replicable, and insightful trade evaluation toolbox
  • Establish standards and guidelines for trade spend objectives and timely post event evaluation
  • Lead the cross functional development and communication of current and forward year trade plans
  • Evaluate and develop best-in-class trade plan templates and communication platforms
  • Collaborate and inform ‘best practices’ insights across functional areas
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for trade promotion effectiveness
  • Manage the sales quota and sales standing process

Education: BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a focus in business analytics preferred. MBA desired but not required

Experience: 5-8 years of sales, marketing, sales development, or finance experience.  The candidate must have strong functional technical skills, strong aptitude for process management and strong communication and influencing skills.

Professional Skills:  Highly motivated worker/thinker and team oriented. Strong organization and analytic skills as well as attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities. Comfortable working with complex data across multiple sources to inform and develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Role Specific Competencies:   Strong communication skills.  Capacity to lead and influence at senior levels.  Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting results & drawing conclusions.  Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives. This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business: expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word.
