Job Description:
The Technical Services Manager is responsible for planning and directing activities for a portfolio of technology projects for commercially distributed OTC, medical device, and cosmetic products with cGMP. The individual will lead cross-functional project teams, develop transfer plans and timelines, identify and resolve issues. The individual will have experience working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels within the organization and contract partners. A highly organized, self-directed team player with a technical background in consumer products or pharmaceutical industry, and basic skills and experience in project management is preferred.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Lead cross-functional teams for implementation of production and cost improvement transfer projects.
- Coordinate technology transfer activities and perform project management responsibilities for each project.
- Develop clearly defined project goals, create and manage task lists and establish appropriate timelines using appropriate project management tools.
- Coordinate project resources, align on project activities, identify critical path issues, and communicate risks in a timely manner.
- Work directly with external partners to facilitate issues resolution and track compliance during project implementation.
- Affect outcomes by building professional relationships.
- Provide critical insight to the project teams on vendor technical and quality systems capabilities.
- Develop and track the project budget with the team, including capital expenses.
- Present the status of the projects to the senior leadership team as required.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives including product sourcing and Cost of Goods reduction projects in collaboration with the Operations business unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or related industry in a cGMP environment preferred.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to influence successful outcomes without direct line reporting authority.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and lead cross-functional teams for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Capable of quickly understanding issues and driving resolution.
- Travel up to 10% mainly in North America
- Proficiency in computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office / Project products / Smartsheet
