Fleet Laboratories is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager this position will review, evaluate, audit and assist in training of employees to assure continuity of all environmental health and safety activities for the site. The EHS Manager will identify and assist the site in meeting and integrating procedures and philosophical changes necessary to establish and keep all team members, work site and processes safe and environmentally compliant. The position is a hands-on position to help assure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Security corporate regulatory requirements, and insurance requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s Worker’s Compensation program.
  • Create a culture of Safety that believes all injuries and accidents are preventable.
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles that prevent all injuries and incidents. 
  • Assist in building a team culture that supports the corporate policies related to safety and loss prevention.
  • Work closely with site leadership to ensure a continual improvement in eliminating accidents, injuries, illness, and environmental events through lasting corrective actions.
  • Create a culture of injury-free plant attitudes using accountability, injury review processes, and demonstration.
  • Assure that the processes are in place to evaluate and conduct near miss, incident, injury, and illness investigations to discover root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Conduct site audits to evaluate personnel practice, work hazards, and exposures to determine trends and action plans for remediation and corrective actions.
  • Conduct training for employees on environmental, health, and safety issues
  • Provide training and oversite for all fork truck training.
  • Direct Safety Committee activities
  • Assure standardization in implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the selection and implementation of safety supplies and equipment.
  • Partner with maintenance, Operations, and Quality to implement engineering controls to minimize safety/occupational health hazards and environmental risks.
  • Manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) inspections, and all state and local agencies providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
  • Manages all site waste and disposal activities.
  • Manage all Security activities including contracted service.
  • Liaison with insurance brokers and carriers for loss prevention initiatives.
  • Other tasks as required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

  • B.S. in a university degree related to Environmental, Health, or Safety
  • 10 years of professional industry experience (Pharmaceutical experience preferred)
  • FDA and GMP experience required.
  • Proven ability to act as a change leader throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Proven success in employee relations with the ability to interact and communicate with a diverse employee base.
  • Excellent written and oral skills
